Harnessing Fundamental, Translational and Clinical Research for the Benefit of Cancer Patients and their Families
Trinity St James鈥檚 Cancer Institute (TSJCI) merges Ireland鈥檚 largest cancer treating academic health campus at St James鈥檚 hospital, with the research excellence of Trinity College Dublin, Ireland鈥檚 leading university.
Directed by Professor Lorraine O鈥橠riscoll, TSJCI鈥檚 research is focussed on improving outcomes for people with cancer through innovative and ground-breaking fundamental, translational, and clinical research. Synergising the research of clinician and non-clinical researchers, and also informed by our patients鈥 representative group, this will be achieved via 4 interconnected Research Themes:
Theme 1: Cancer Prevention and Early Diagnosis
Theme 2: Molecular and Precision Oncology
Theme 3: Cancer Immunology, and
Theme 4: Cancer Survivorship and Supportive Care,
leading to improvements in health status and quality of life for people in Ireland and beyond.
