Dr Hayden is a consultant haematologist and clinical lead for the myeloma service at St James’s Hospital. He is also medical director of the Cryobiology Laboratory at the National Stem Cell Transplant Unit. He is a graduate of University College Dublin and completed a fellowship at the Jerome Lipper Myeloma Centre at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.

He has been a consultant at St James’s Hospital since 2010 and became a member of the International Myeloma Working Group in 2017. Dr Hayden was appointed secretary of the Chronic Malignancies Working Party (CMWP) of the European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT) in 2018.
