Dr Kearney completed a Clinical Fellowship in the Institute of Neurology in Queen Square, London, and worked in the National 188ÌåÓý for Neurology and Neurosurgery. On completion of this, he completed his Higher Specialist Training in Neurology with the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland.

Dr Kearney completed his undergraduate medical training in University College Dublin in 2006 and then a PhD in University College London in the Institute of Neurology in 2014.

Dr Kearney is a senior clinical lecturer in the Academic Unit of Neurology in Trinity College Dublin and has a research interest in diagnostic biomarkers in multiple sclerosis, including the use of MRI.
